Just looking for someone who has had a radical Hysterectomy. Length of stay in hospital?
I have had my 25 hrs. of radiation, & Implants (3 day) Now am having hystomectomy & am a little apprehensive. Just needed an encouraging word!

finally I find someone To talk about this with. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I found out 6-15-99 from a physical (pap) that I had uterine fibroid tumors. The gyn had me scheduled within 2 wks for a 'cone' biopsy. Talk about shock! I am very blessed to have had my friend/husband beside me from the beginning. I absolutely hate ANYTHING0

I absolutely loathe ANYTHING medical,a definate phobia. Long story. Currently seeing a psychiatrist who put me on depression/anxiety meds for mental/emotional/chemical loss in my body. Have been desperately looking for counseling/support groups thru websites, phone #'s, hospitals,ACS,you name it.I have ?'s and possibly can provide experience, strenth and hope? Also a recovering addict/alcoholic of ten years. I tend to abbreviate so bear with me. RSVP asap, Thanks Susy0

My hospital stay was about 4 days including surgery. The dr. even went after lymph nodes in the surrounding tissue once he took out uterus, tubes, ovaries etc. He called me his miracle baby because I'm his youngest patient and was told I would be there for at least a week. I was subjected to a catheter bag for almost a mo. because he cut thru uretha tubes to get it all. Once he took that out he set me up with 5wks of intensive (aggresive) chemo/radiation treatments. He told me prior to surgery that might be a possibility it didn't connect until it was a reality. I went to the hospital Mondays for the chemo and M-F for the rad. So Mon. was a double whammy. Yes I got sick from the chemo (no describing it) and intense internal 'sunburn' from rad. I thought giving up alcohol and drugs was hard....I was a smoker for many years and was told to quit before the doctor would even schedule the operation. I am still relatively new at this survivor stuff and have been encouraged to write a book about my life, which stupifies me because there are other people in this world who have been thru worse hells than I. Keep in touch? Susy0
