My good friend Terri, known as TerriL on this board, lost her battle with Stage IV colon cancer this morning, at 4AM Eastern Time.

I met Terri on this board in January. We stayed in touch and met in person when she came to CA in the summer. When I saw her in May, she was a happy, hopeful and vibrant ball of fire. Her hair just started to grow again after her 2nd round of chemo, and she joked about looking just like Julius Ceasar.

Terri was a school teacher, and what lesson of courage she must have taught her students with her example. She wore her chemo fanny pack to her classes and explained to her student what it was. She went on teaching until the very end.

There will be a memorial service in her honor on this Saturday in St. Louis, MO. I am in contact with Terri's sister-in-law. I will pass along all the messages from this board to Terri's family.

I will miss Terri.

Ying

I am so sorry to hear of this loss... and it is a loss.

If you haven't read her personal page, I recommend doing so. I think we can all take at least one thing from her page and put it to good use. She will be missed.

Love and peace to all of her friends and family.

The title of her web page is "I am alive and kickin'". Click on Personal Web Pages and type this into the word or phrase section.

I am so saddened to read about Terri's passing. Her wanting to give back to others demonstrates her character.

Ying, I am so happy that you had the opportunity to meet Terri and support her in her battle. Please let her family know how truly sorry we are for her passing.

The life lessons she taught her students will be invaluable to them. Terri's legacy will live on in the life's she touched.

    Ying,

Thank you for sharing this very sad news. It really puts our lives in perspective when things like this happen. Let her family know my deepest condolences are extended to them during this very difficult time. I pray that time will ease their pain, even though the void will never be filled.

Terri was a beautiful soul with a kind heart and a true understanding of what it meant to LIVE. The world is a little emptier with her gone, but the heavens are truly rejoicing that she is now home.

    Hugs,

    Stacy

We will miss her and please keep us posted as plans are formalized.

It will be a sad day, but again I learn great lessons from one of my semi-colon friends.

I am so sorry to hear this. Unless you belong to these groups, it is hard to really understand to the pain and sorrow in losing "cyber family."

Oh my heart is so saddened. Terri and I spoke several times by phone and, as coincidence would have it, she taught at my old high school in St. Louis.

She was so kind and thoughtful. I can't believe she is gone.

Please send along my deepest sorrow and sympathy to her family.

    We will remember her always.

It is a very sad day. I will keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers. It is very hard to loose one of our "family" to this dreaded disease. We will all miss her.

I didn't know Terri, but I'm glad you are remembering her on this site..a continuing memorial on this site has been requested, but so far as I know, there has been no response from CSN staff. I feel that it may be even more important to remember those that go before us because of this disease, because they might still be here in energy and spirit to help us.. Bud

WHAT DO YOU MEAN MIGHT BUD????? I know they LIVE within me and that is why I want to a memorial place here and on colonpalooza.com also. Every day I continue to fight the **** cells, I feel them behind me. It is my duty to them, in their memory and spirit.
