It is sad to note that one of our long time stage 4 survivors has passed.

He was a fighter as well as someone who was determined to enjoy every minute he had.  He dealt with cancer for 17 years.

Phil loved life.

Please say a prayer or send good thoughts to his family as they deal with this sad time.

I am so sad to see this. He was very encouraging and helpful and gave me hope. 17 years is a long time,  but still somehow not enough time.

    17 years

17 years is a long time to have cancer. I dont know him much but for sure he was a fighter and an inspiration for us.

I will include his family and friends in my prayers!

    Oh my goodness!

    This is a shock!

While I knew of his continued stuggle with the beast, I didn't realize that it was getting the better of him. I hope that he was able to pass in a most peaceful manner. He deserved nothing less, after so many years of fighting.

    I am crushed!

    So Sad

This is so sad to see.  A really great guy from all the interactions I have had on the board. One of the consistents for me since I started.

My thoughts are with his friends and family.

Do we know details? The only

Do we know details? The only interaction I had with him was about the HAI pump, and in that it appeared he had not had a recurrence for some time. Maybe he really did beat cancer and just went of the natural course of life.

I thought he was doing well.

I thought he was doing well.  Phillie G was such a nice guy, he was on when I went through cancer and helped me through many a day.  So many OGs gone.  This disease is just cruel.  I'm glad he's out of pain, stress and at peace.

I chatted him this year. He said he was not NED. I believe he had lung mets. But I am also curious what the cause was.

    obituary

His obituary seemed to indicate that it was cancer.  I don't believe he was ever cancer free as he seemed to be on some type of treament for life.  Beyond that no details.

    Goodbye My Friend

Phil was one of the first to welcome Johnnybegood and myself to the forum. A wise man, indeed. My condolences and peace to his family and friends.

    One post of him

One post of him said that he was never NED. So I assume that he constantly fought the disease for 17 years.

Nevertheless still sad to let him go.

I don't remember many posts from him, but I'm sad to hear he lost his fight after 17 years. May he rest in peace and condolences to friends and family.
