I agree these ladies along with our current warriors have been so generous in sharing their unique journeys and such a wealth of information.

While it is sad to revisit the histories I am struck by the number of women I recall who just 'disappeared.' We will probably never know if they just moved on or passed away.

That is why I am happy to have both a resource and remembrance for those interested going forward.

You're right in that I was reminded of the many women who posted for a time and then stopped. Hopefully many achieved remission and were able to move on with their lives. Some, however, probably stopped posting because their condition worsened and they didn't want to continue on the board for various reasons.

I hope it wasn't just that they were afraid their bad news would discourage others on the board still having treatment or fearing recurrence. Since uterine cancer usually strikes women past menopause, most of us have already had experience in dealing with other challenging situations and losses in our lives. So while it's never easy to read about a fellow member's difficulties, ideally this board would be a place where that woman can share what's going on with her situation and get support from those who probably better understand what she is going through than many of her family and friends.

After my diagnosis I began easing towards retirement and while I still do some client projects, I've chosen to not be as busy as I used to be. So I'm glad to have the time to work on the tribute page. Thanks for the thanks!

When I was diagnosed with UPSC in 2017, I created a file for my husband and kids so they would know about the bills, how & when they are paid, insudance info, etc. Then after being diagnosed with recurrence, I did the advanced directive.  I'm thinking that maybe we should put instructions about how to post to this site somewhere for family, just in case. 

Reviewing so many threads as part of this project I've seen how often those who were accustomed to hearing from someone regularly wondered when those folks stopped posting. So adding instructions for a family member or friend to provide a final update is a very good idea. I'll include something in the final tribute page.

Personally, I've left instructions for my sister to update the board if I die before her, along with the information she'll need to settle other matters. I'll have to assign someone else should she go before me.
