New Family Member
I adopted this little girl yesterday. Haven't decided what to name her yet. She's about 6 months old and a bundle of energy and already mostly housebroken (been a couple of excited pees). She likes to dip her front paw(s) in her water bowl before she drinks. At certain angles, she looks fox like. She moves so much, it's hard to take pictures.
I've thought about "Turbo". Another suggestion I like is "Rocket". Any suggestions? It's been so long since I've had a dog, I feel rusty but I'm sure she will force me to get exercise.

Ah she is so cute! Being me ( and I'm not a man) I would probably call her something like Honey. However my dog naming skills are rather low. I wanted to name my little toy poddle George and my husband said absolutely not because just imagine calling out the door for the dog to come and yell for George. Maybe Honey would be the same thing. Have fun finding the right name. We need things that make us happy.

How bout Foxy?
She is a doll, I love those white paws and the streak on her nose. I am so happy for you, she will give you unbounded love and add so much to your life. She looks very smart. Watch "The Dog Whisperer " on the NatGeo channel, Cesar Milan has some real helpful info. Please share some "tails" with us as she grows. Helpful hint #1: keep your leather shoes locked up for awhile

Lucky!
Lucky you, Jim. And lucky, doggie. Our dog, a terribly naughty Jack Russell died while I was on chemo. And I haven't yet had the heart to get another. But I can tell you this house has been very lonely without a dog in it. If I drop a piece of food on the floor, while cooking, I actually have to bend over and pick it up! And no one follows me from room to room because I am so interesting and fun to be with. How great they think we are and I think you have made a good decision to open your home and heart to that special kind of love.
I like Rocket for a name. And you can call her Rocky--like me.

Great looking dog... Roxy, Honey, Scout (To Kill a Mockingbird), Grace, Captain. My lab, Kukui passed February. We used quite a few Hawaiian names for dogs. She was brown and named after the Kukui Nut tree that has both black and brown nuts. I have had past dogs named Nani (princess), Kiko (spot), Pua (flower), Keiku (sister). I curretnly have a dog named Nollie (skateboard move) and two female cats, Luna (named from Harry Potter series) and Captain. My kids were tired of the Hawaiian names. Have a great time with your new best friend. She's about the same size as Nollie.

Enjoy the company.. We took in a preg cat home from outside who gave birth to 7 kittens we have 8 cats in an apartment each is so adorable not sure how we can give them away.. Even with so much going on each is so precious... We took care of the cat during her first pregnancy where we only got to see the kitten she had sometime later only 1 survived i guess.. Second pregnancy we took her in.. They are 9 wks old now...

Max, I hope the vet is wrong in his diagnosis. Yes, they are unbelievably clean pets. One wonders how and when they learn everything so quickly. Even the first night we took the mom in she was in stress around 4am and she went to the bathroom to litterbox, we had expected accidents but were glad there wasn't any. Did you ever have Your cats as kittens? They turn into little monsters playing with each other even middle of the night like there is horse racing going on... We have one that is black and white too. I'll try topost few pictures later..

but I do appreciate feedback.My guess right now is she won't be the smartest dog I've ever had but she makes up for it in cuteness and personality - LOL. Right now she's sitting on the edge of the sofa watching out an open window and listening to other dogs barking in the neighborhood - ears tuned like little antennas. So far, she hasn't committed too many puppy crimes for which I'm thankful.

Well, I've probably made her schizophrenic but I let my six year old great/grand niece name her. She suggested "Foxy Faye" since she looks like a fox and "Faye" was the middle name of her "Emmaw" (grandmother/my youngest sister) who passed away shortly after I finished chemo. So "Foxy Faye" it is - though it seems like it would be a good name for a race horse
.I got her vaccinated last week and soon we'll get her spayed. She was great at the Vet's . She's a typical puppy and sometives works my last 50 something year old nerve
. She however has so many good and endearing qualities and I know she'll grow out of her "terrible twos" eventually (I hope). The other day I stretched out on the sofa after lunch to watch a little TV and fell asleep. I woke up and she was sound asleep, lying on my belly - it was so cute and I think I had a rush of oxytocin making the bond stronger . I left her out while I was showering one day and I looked down and there was this little "fox" head poking around the shower curtain smiling at me the way dogs do. Face dripping, she cocked her head with those big pointy ears and looked at me as if to ask, "Can I come in and play?". Now if I can get her to stop eating bugs, worms, and clumps of mown grass and the occasional "accident" in the house. It's like having a kid I suppose - I do more laundry, constantly clean up after her and watch her like a hawk to keep her out of trouble
. She was playing with a black snake in my brother-in-law's fenced in back yard the other day. I take her there to run and fetch and play un-leashed. Thank goodness I won't have to pay for colleger for her . She's growing on me .0 -

We have Gracie trained to a bell hanging from the back door. She found out it was a good way to communicate so she rings it for everything, breakfast, dinner, treat or snack time but only if I am running late with them. She even rang it one time for her water bowl to be cleaned! Boy that took awhile for us to figure out

Yellow Eyes day finally did in fact arrive: She is in cat eternity now, where the cat nip never runs out, and mice dance in her dreams. We checked the file, and she was 17.5 years old. As I mentioned, the cat shown with my name is her son, Mr Bib. She lives on in him, and in our memory.
I adopted her out of the woods over 16 years ago, a long time to have a cat in the house. We knew her every like and dislike -- everything about her personality.
