Had a follow up today for my Fav Doctor and he examined my glands on neck and groin his words were ( the glands are too small to be lymphoma )

he gave me some sheet of paper and said he thinks i have Bornholm Disease, due to blood work chest xray and utrasound all coming back fine =/

im more confused then ever he said that the lumps in my groin are typical for someone who is skinny like me....... this has just made me more worried as i can find no mention of swollen glands being connected to Bornholm Disease =/ very confused and still worried!!! =[

No Biopsy for the time being i hope everything starts to settle down soon! =[

more blood tests!!

    Sounds more than Crazy !!!

Not to be short or anything, but you need to seek a second opinion right away. You sound as if you have a God wanna be Dr. You rely on them because you know something is not right and they want to come across as they know your body better than you do. If they are wrong in their diagnosis all they say is, Oh well, win some lose some. In the meantime you may be wasting precious time. There is definitely something that is not right. Seek that 2nd or even 3rd opinion till you get your answers.  John

    hmmmm

    What are the symptoms?

The main symptom of Bornholm disease is severe stabbing chest pain, which is often made worse by deep breathing, coughing, or sudden movements. The pain tends to come and go, with episodes lasting 15-30 minutes.

Bornholm disease sometimes also causes tummy pain, fever, headache, sore throat, and muscle pain.

These symptoms usually start suddenly and persist for several days before going away, without the need for treatment. However, they may return.

    ====

Quick response - I'm at cancer center getting my scans today.  There is no mention of swollen glands with that disease though I suppose it's possible.

    Scanxiously, Wink

    ???????????????

Ask one of the Drs. to refer you to an Oncologist to rule out Lymphoma for sure.  John

    Good luck Jim...

    Hi Jim,

Good luck today with your scan! I hope you find out your results in a timely fashion. I still haven't received a call yet to schedule mine, so my anxiety level is low right now. Let us know what you find out.  Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10-age62)

    Stress...

    Hi,

Your stress level is so high right now that I think you might be overthinking everything. I'm in favor of a second opinion at a clinic that is NOT afilliated with the multiple doctors you have already seen. Are you on medication for anxiety? If not, you might want to ask about getting on a low dose to give your brain a little rest. Hang in there.

    Best wishes...Sue  (FNHL-2-3A-6/10-age62)

    I'm having "fun" (eyes rolling)

Thanks, Sue!  Just had my "margaritas" about 20 minutes ago.  Should do the CT scan in about another 20-30 minutes.

    Hugs

    Agree with Sue

I agree with Sue, Tank.  I'll be here at the cancer center for probably another 2-3 hours.

    Hang in there! - Jim

    Don't forget...

    Hey Jim...

Every time I get my CT scan I always forget about that crazy "warm" sensation that goes through my body from the contrast. First time I had it done I yelled out.."Uh oh, I'm going to pee my pants" Surprised...the radiologist calmly said.."no..it just feels like your going to". ha! Smile Just thought I'd remind you...Sue

    Well...

If thats the case, then I would be persistant as hell and not let long lengths of time lapse between voicing your concerns to every doctor working on your case. You have to be your own advocate, so let your voice be heard until you get some answers. The squeeky wheel gets fixed first. In the meantime you need to get a grip on your emotions to bring your stress level down. Meds, counseling, clergy, local support group...whatever it takes... but do something to lessen the stress. Sorry buddy...I just don't know what else to offer in the form of advice. Keeping you in my prayers and good thoughts. Best wishes....Sue  (FNHL-2-3A-6/10-age62)

    DOCTORS

Have you seen yet an Oncologist/Hematologist??

I had a number of tests, the final one was a Bone Marrow Biopsy.

I would  get another opinion from an Oncologist.

    SCAN

    Sue:

When I had a Scan last year the technician actually handed me a note giving me information about the scan.  The note added that the warm sensation might cause you to think that you might "pee in your pants."  It went on to tell you not to worry; that would not happen!
