DES Babies Besides Myself
I know this is Uterine but was wondering if any of you are DES babies such as myself. You can read more here. http://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/hormones/des-fact-sheet I am wondering if this could have contributed to my cancer, not to mention never been able to have a baby myself.

Feeling overly drugged
after my second round I feel more drugged out than my first. I am hating this feeling. Does it get worse with each session? I feel weak in not being able to just bounce back after a day or two. Not finding anything to eat that satisfies me.

Update from Lou Ann

So far almost no side effects, waiting to see what next week brings. So hoping it works at leasty to keep me stable. I had my 1st pain free day today…

ISO
Ok everyone! Time for a search for some of the ladies(and gents?) that have gone MIA. We do not want to intrude or stalk anyone, but we have not head from some of these ladies in some time now! Some of us make contact by CSN e-mail or private e-mail or face book. I do not have a full list of the missing, but if you know of…

Radiation ... Confusion and scared
I was reading another post and now I have all of these questions about radiation. I am supposed to receive 5 treatments. It is supposed to be a vagnial cuff for the endometrial cancer which is a stage 2. Now I am reading that radiation can destroy bone marrow. I was already in the hosptial for nuetripinic fever once before…

Update.... On hey
I thank everyone for their comments. I called my doctor yesterday and as for the nausea meds he is thinking about using the zofran to a higher dose. He is concerned with dehydration. I am but I have been drinking. I was able to get a small milkshake down and a small bowl of Mac and cheese. I have no idea why these things…

Talcum Powder and USPC connection?
Hi all, I haven't been on the boards for awhile but I wanted to raise the topic of there possibly being a connection between talcum powder use and UPSC. I have used talcum powder (aka Johnson's Baby Powder) for as long as I can remember. When I was an infant, toddler and young child my mother used it on me as well. When I…

What causes cancer?
I've been researching "causes" of cancer and the information is conflicting to say the least. Obesity supposedly causes cancer yet the most obese country in the world, Samoa, with 75% obesity rates, has one of the lowest incidences of cancer. Denmark and Norway are in the top five, higher than the United States, yet Sweden…

6th Infusion complete!
Well, I had my 6th frontline chemo today. It was delayed a week and required a blood transfusion to get me ready, but it happened. When I think about the last 5 months it went quickly, tho when I was in the thick of it I had my doubts I could make it due to side affects. I know I have 3 days of pain coming my way, a pet/CT…

Cold Laser for pain
I was talking with a co-worker today about her husband who had what was like flesh-eating disease on his leg for a long time last year. He had significant nerve damage, as you may imagine, and the pain was probably something like what the ladies with neuropathy feel. Today she mentioned that he has been receiving cold…

Chemo #30 started
i had the 1st of 5 infusions Of Topotecan today. the rest will follow Tues-Friday. Luckily the infusion is very short with only 1 premed. Altogether it lasted only 1 hour. It does effect the blood so I will get the Neulasta patch thing on Friday. My CA125 only increased by 4 points from 93-97. I'll call that good news.…

Have to wait another week.
My life has kind of been on hold waiting for my port site wound to heal and get the results from my GP on how my liver was doing. As of last Tuesday, my wound is officially healed but today my GP told me she wants me to wait another week before she runs blood tests. She changed several of my medications, said to give it a…

Dosing for Metformin?
A few weeks ago I did some research on Metformin and one of the articles discussed how Metformin for cancer was dosed differently than it was for insulin resistance. I was wondering if anyone taking Metformin for cancer would be comfortable in sharing their daily dosage? Thanks much ~

anyone tried abraxne instead of taxol?
Sorry, after 4 days of taxol side effects, I'm desperate. Anyone tried Abraxane? I know it's more expensive, but, if it would leave the nerves alone, it would be worth it for me to try and come up with some etra cash to help if insurance won't cover it.. I'm really hurting, and I don't want to take any more pain pills…

Endo biopsy
I'm hoping you can help give me some insight. My mother in law just told me she needs to get a biopsy done on her endow lining. She said that during routine exam "they saw something they didn't like" and so she needs to get a biopsy done under anesthesia out patient. I'm reading and freaking out that this could be cancer,…

Power Port Catheter
I have a power port question. Does your port catheter bulge out in the area where it's inserted in the vein when you lie on your back and then flatten back out when you sit or stand up? Not the port itself, that always bulges - this is about the catheter. I awoke this morning with a twinging pain in that area. When I put…

Metformin, L Glutamine & scans
When I talked with my doctor on Monday I had a list of things I wanted to ask. Metformin - he said "interesting" then went on to explain we'll know in a year if it will be of benefit. He does have a couple of ladies in the clinical trial, but for me, he doesn't want to recommend it. L-Glutamine (for neuropathy), said he…

Strands of Hair
Two days ago it would be day 12 after first treatment. Driving home my head was hurting and began to rub it. That is when the first several strands were noticed in hands. The next day, more and more in shower, sink, etc. not much on pillow. My husband and a few others finally convinced me to just cut excessively short, GI…

Chemo brain at its finest!
For the past 28 years I have done the books for our small business. We have about 12 employees and about a million in sales. I could do them in my sleep! But, it has been such a struggle these past few months. Last week I sent all the info for our personal taxes, our son's taxes and our LLP to our tax accountant. I left…
