New Member here.  This has been my second bout with Breast Cancer.  This time it was in both breasts. I had chemo, bilateral mastectomy and radiation.  As part of the surgery, the surgeon removed the port which had been put in for chemo.  This area had been sore since the port was put in and I assumed it would feel better after removal.  It has been 9 months since the port was removed.  There is still a hard lump in that area and any pressure (even just putting on a top) is painful.  Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

Yes, I'm 11 months on the other side of cancer and port removal and I still have discomfort from port site into the neck - I have a lump, as well and it is still tender. I can still feel a stitch - I am uncertain what to do about it. God Bless you

sorry to hear this, I was hoping that after removing the port the discomfort would be gone, is this common or an expectation to feel a lump there ? I didn't like how my doctor inserted when I was almost awake, felt like the hospital could have done a better job sedating me ....(Kaiser in Santa Clara )

It is not as bad as when it is in. In fact mine is subsiding since surgery. Maybe a little tender to touch and I do have a lump still. I don’t notice it most of the time.

I'm not looking forward to that. This is my first time posting. I'm having pain all the time after port placement. I'm also getting no answers to the fact that I have been dizzy ever since having port placement. I hadn't even started my chemo yet and the week before was so dizzy that I felt like I was seasick. It's been almost a month and I am still so dizzy. I'm afraid to drive at times. I know that my vans are terrible and that the port is a good thing but I don't know if I can handle it if it still hurts afterwards. I'm so sorry you're going through that.
