Looking for Top Oncologist Recommendation in Sarasota/Bradenton

Hi All, my Dad was just diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer a week ago and had part of his colon removed. He's moving onto the chemo stage in 6 weeks but the oncologist he was referred to by the medical group that performed the surgery doesn't seem to be proposing more than a basic regimen. I know there are many advanced treatment options these days and I'd love it if anyone here could refer me to an oncologist in the Sarasota/Bradenton FL area that can give him the best care available, even if expensive. He's 83 years old, so any specialist referrals in senior based treatment are welcome. Deepest thanks!

Thank you for starting a new thread.  I am sorry that I cannot help you, living over on the other side of the country, but hopefully someone will come online soon and give you advice.

Welcome to the group and so glad you are taking an interest in your dad to try to get him the best possible care.  If you aren't satisfied with the treatment schedule they have for him, it might be best to get him a second opinion.  I'm not from that area so I'm not able to help you, but hopefully someone can give you some options.  Wishing you dad well.

I am in northern Pinellas County so do not have a recommendation for the Sarasota/Bradenton area.  However, I am a stage 4 rectal cancer patient and did all of my treatments and surgeries at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa in 2015 and 2016 and I would highly recommend them.  My oncologists are no longer there and my follow up has remained with my surgeon who is amazing.  If that is too far, you might want to call them and see if they would have a referral for your area.  Wishing your Dad the best.
