Colonoscopy prep is not going well

its tomorrow but not until 2pm so round one is done, round 2 starts at 830. it started with 4 dulcolax pills at 3pm and by 445 he was puking. Drank his 3 cups of miralax and threw up around 7. He has type 2 diabetes and now his blood sugar was tanking down to 55. I admit I totally lost it. I am kind of failing miserably at being rational in any way lately. He is doing good but I just have such a hard time lately not being in a total panic about every little thing. He never threw up or had any issues with the prep before so if course my mind goes crazy with scenarios as to why. It’s just exhausting, I don’t know how much one person is supposed to handle, it’s just getting harder and harder to be strong.

editting this to add it’s been 3 years since his last colonoscopy, he hasn’t been well enough. Maybe he still wasn’t but he seemed good.

I had one two weeks ago.

It was number 15 for me . I had Moviprep. It cleaned me out well but it put my blood pressure and sugars thru the roof (twpe two as well) I was all clear, no polyps ,no colitis and no diverticulitis. Wish him good luck for me. Ron.

    Glad your man's over that

Glad your man's over that hurdle, Ruth, I'm amazed at how many ways to prep are out there. I always get that one gallon jug called Golightly, or something similar. You fill it, put it in the fridge, half that night, half in the morning. Tastes like mild salt water to me, yeech. My appt. is next week. Take care of you too..............................................................Dave

    Thank you both!

the dr is such a kind wonderful man, he also treats my daughter. I see him often, she was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 13 and he agreed to take her so she wouldn’t have to switch later. So he said next time not this prep and zofran for a day before, all through it and a day after the prep. I did end up giving him one and made him take one in the morning.

    WooHooooo

So glad to hear that all is clear.   What a relief after everything he went through just to get the scope.  Thanks for the update and good news.
