First Post-Surgical Scans

Had my first post-op scans yesterday. All looks good in and around kidneys and lungs. Blood work slightly better with creatinine back down into high normal.   Still got a stone in the other kidney, but it's been there over a year now and it doesn't seem to have grown.   PA is not authorized to give cannabis recommend, but thinks I likely qualify, even with minimal pain as I can't take most otc painkillers, so that's my next todo.

congratulations with the clear scans.  Is that stone causing you the pain?  What is the size of the stone?  The reason I ask is I have medullary sponge kidney and have multiple stones in both kidneys.  If it is really causing you pain has your doctor talked with you about the lithotripsy procedure?

It's small, 3mm give or take.

It's small, 3mm give or take.  No symptoms yet, my luck it'll start migrating while on vacation in a few weeks.  I've had a couple in the past,, so I know what to expect and have my baggie of meds ready.   My last stone was 6.5 and we did litho to break it up.   The key is I have to stay hydrated, my 2mm stone was terrible because I'd gotten dehydrated on a bike ride and it started migrating that night.  By the time I knew it was moving it was too late and I couldn't hold down water.  Once I got to the hospital and on an IV to rehydrate I was fine.

    spot on!

Hydration is key with stones.  I drink (try to, anyway) about a gallon of water each day.  I'm sure this is the reason I don't feel many of the stones I pass.  Good luck on this one.  Hopefully, it makes it out without any issues.
