Hi Everyone,   I am contemplating either Avastin alone  or Avastin/Doxil as my next step along this journey.   The published side effect look awful.   I am looking for first hand information from you ladies that you might be willing to share on how well tolerated these drugs are......thanks.

    Avastin

    Hi LIttle Annie,

I never had Doxil, but did have Avastin with frontline and as maintenance for a few months.  The scary side effect of Avastin is the very, very small risk of a bowel perforation.  The percentage of this happening is quite small, but there is the potential.  The side effects I experienced were a runny nose, hoarse voice and knee pain.  It was a whole lot easier than Carbo/Taxol for me.  Just before I stopped receiving it, my blood pressure started to rise, which is a common side effect.

Hope you find the right answer.

    Avastin

I had a year of Avastin, partly with Carbo and Placitaxel and then solo. The only side effect i had from Avastin was the nosebleed and the expected rise in BP. I've been off it for about 3 months and that disappeared after a couple of weeks with just a chronic stuffy/runny nose left.

I'm starting Doxil in two weeks and am very nervous about the side effects. Hoping for an easy time of it as it's a relatively low dose and only once a month. Anyone else been on this regimen?

    Avastin/Doxil side effects

I'll be starting this combo next week.  I was finally getting my hair back after frontline.  Oncologist says I will be on some sort of chemo forever, so I guess that means when my hair falls out--again--that's it.  Can hair grow when on these drugs?  Probably not, but want some input from others.

    Avastin/ Ca125

I just off my Chemo treatment last 2 treatments had Avastin. Avastin gave me such a Headache. Had my Cat Scan and my hip been hurting said it was a scar tissue.

So my Choice is Avastine alone for every 3 weeks at 1 hr for the treatment for 12 months, and every 3 months a CT Scan. 2nd Choice is a CA 125 with also flushing my port.

Not so sure with Avasin as it has so many side effects. Anyone had thses options and why you picked what you did.

    Thank You, Donna

    Taxol/carboplatin/Avastin/Neulasta

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting. I mention in the subject the 4 medications i'm on. I had the first quimo on the 11th December and have been hoarse ever since. Also had serious joint pain and light headaches, but that lasted about 4 days. My hair is begining to fall and  also have a tingiling sensation on the tips of my fingers. Does anyone know if the hoarseness and sore throat eventually go away?

    Thanks Beba

    Avastin

I had Avastin during Chemo & it continued past that for an additional 9 months @ 3 week intervals. My hair regrew after the Taxol & Carboplatin ceased. My side affects of Avastin were runny nose (sometimes light nose bleeds), stiffness in my hands, fatigue, and eventually elevated BP's.

    Avastin

Yes, my hoarseness went away after stopping Avastin. Still having nasal congestion, but could be related to living with 4 cats & a dog?
