Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this site and I recently found out I have peritoneal cancer that has metastisized to my liver from my appendix surgery 3 years ago . Im going in for surgery on 05/08/18 to remove the cancer ans then have the Hipec. This is a first for me, can anyone give me any information on what to expect before and after?

Thank You

    Bambina43~C detailed reply @ https://csn.cancer.org/node/316192

    Hello Bambina43

After reading your letter, I decided to answer you on a “separate topic forum” because there will be others who will most likely have this same diagnosis in the future.  And hopefully they will have been scheduled for surgery with a top medical facility who performs quite a few “Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemoperfusion (HIPEC) treatments.

So please read my “lengthy” reply to you here:

I, for one, have placed your name on my calendar and will be remembering you and the entire medical team in prayer on Tuesday, the 8th.

Are you with an appendix cancer specialist?

Peritoneal mets are common with appendix cancer,  and yes,  surgery with HIPEC is the way to go.  Appendix cancer boats on fb have lots of info on HIPEC.   My appendix cancer with peritoneal mets was diagnosed over 11 years ago.
