I’m a little terrified.

Hello there -

New here! I’m a 28 y/o, no kids. However, I was diagnosed (via transvaginal ultrasound) with two medium sized fibroids. Alongside an abnormal friend (mass) in which they wish to do a hysteroscopy, D&C, and a biopsy on the little guy.

My surgery date is set for May 16th. And I am a little terrified. Not because of the procedure but because of the outcome. I’m praying for a benign mass, however my gut (no pun intended) is telling my otherwise.

Any words of wisdom and encouragement? Thanks in advance.

authorella, my two cents would be not to get too far ahead of yourself.  Fibroids are common, and you are lucky to be working with a doctor who wanted to find out what is going on.  While your fear is real, let them figure it out.  Please come back and let us know what they find, and I think I can say, we are all hoping it is benign.

As NoTimeForCancer said, kudos that your doctor is moving ahead so expeditiously on this. I know that the next few weeks will seem endless until you have the procedure and the resulting report. But as a younger woman, the odds are in your favor that the mass will be benign, so try keep some positive thoughts in play, along with the worry.

Remember the saying not to cross a bridge till you get to it and keep reminding yourself. You are on my calendar for May 16. I'll be sending good thoughts your way.

The Odds are in your favor that it will turn out to be nothing serious.  The D&C and Hystoscopy is the right initial approach.  As NoTimeForCancer stated don't get ahead of yourself.  I found the D&C and Hystoscopy to be a piece of cake, no pain and nice nap|-)!

Good luck and let us know the results.  I will be praying that it is strictly Fibroids and nothing else!

The word “mass” is scary, I know, but your doc is being proactive, and that is great. Try to take one step at a time. You are in my thoughts.  Please let us know how it comes out. ((Hugs))
