My second deacade of survival from stagec colon cancer. I was operated on 22/01/1998. My surgeon told me I would not survive any longer than three years because of the etreme aggression of the cancer. Itold him i don't die from cancer. He laughed, wished me well but suggested if there was stuff I wanted to do get it done now. I was 47 at dx and now I am 67 still cancer free. I live alone and still work four days a week. I have longterm legacies of my cancer and chemo but at this time cyclosporine, warfarin and several other meds keep me running. Twenty years seems a lot longer than 20 years when you are a survivor. The secret of survival is that despite everything ,some of us just do. Good health to all. Ron. |
