Fatigue after chemo treatment

It's been 6 weeks since I completed chemotherapy and I have fatigue now worse then I did before I began chemo. My Dr. has ordered me to excercise 15 min a day but, with the fatigue and the cold weather I have not been able to do much excercising (it's my crutch). Anyone else experienced fatigue after treatments were complete?

AMoore, chemo is poison so it

AMoore, chemo is poison so it is going to have an effect on your body.  Get up, move, 15 minutes isn't that much - walk around in the garage or around the house, then you can enjoy the rest you earned.  We got to keep moving!

What has helped me quite a

What has helped me quite a bit ... Leslie Sansone. The woman likes to chatter during her videos (a little too much for my tastes), but just turn the sound down and watch her. The movements are easy, you can just shuffle a little if you don't feel up to things at first, and if you do this while watching TV (I have Leslie on my tablet, but remember to keep an eye on her while watching my favorite show so I don't do the same thing for five minutes!), those 15 minutes go quickly. I first discovered her when I shattered my left wrist in 2007. I couldn't do exercises that were difficult, or used hand or arm movements.

Of course, you can jazz up the movements once you feel better. I do that as well. I think the idea is to move the patootie. I'm considering doing her 30-minute variation, now that I know what my body will handle and what it can't. If it's too much, just turn things down a couple of notches!

This is probably one of the easiest ones to start, and the one I'm using now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCe3ZS7pAC4

This isn't Leslie, but this other one is good if you want to up the movements just a slight bit, or want more variety. I know I get tired of doing the same thing every day!

On days when you want to do something different or add on a little more, supplement it with just plain walking around or 10 minutes or more of yoga. There are some good yoga videos for cancer patients, and I find that some really help with minor neuropathy in fingers. I went with chair yoga initially:

There are also videos for practicing yoga movements in bed, if you're really feeling under the weather. I find yoga incredibly useful with chemo, and intend to continue after as well. I had been practicing before, and even chair yoga feels wonderful now. Good for aches and pains, too.

I was chatting with a fellow warrior during a chemo treatment, and we both smiled when she mentioned that she used Leslie. Apparently, Leslie is more popular than I thought!

I am going to have to check

I am going to have to check out Leslie.  My last chemo was over two years ago and I still get so dang tired!!  Our granddaughter was visiting us last week during her winter break from college.  We just moved to Florida six weeks ago so we weren't really familiar with the Tampa/Clearwater area so we did a lot of exploring.  On Monday and Tuesday we had some outings which involved a lot of walking.  On Wednesday, I was beat!!  I HATE THIS!!! I bought a stroller for my little Maltese so when I walk I have something to hold onto since I'm still unsteady on my feet and have fallen a few times.

    Thanks for the tip!!

    Love,

    Eldri

    Thanks Ladies

I have started slow as suggested and I am starting to feel stronger everyday!! I was actually able to clean my house today for the first time in forever and I still have energy to burn. I am pretty sure I will sleep well tonight. I will look up the youtube videos. Thanks
