Mastectomy form adhesives/glues

Hello --

I've just joined the forum. I have had both mastectomies, one in 1998 and one in 2003. Of course by now I'm fully healed. The subject of this post has to do with my search for comfortable breast forms. I'm hoping to find a way to use foam, microbead, or another light form with an adhesive in a light relatively loose bra. Have any of you found a successful way to do this?

 I've used self-adhesive Amoena forms in such bras, but find them heavy and hot, especially in the summer. I live in So Tx, and in the summer I have to just do without any forms, and am looking for solutions.

Any suggestions? Are any adhesives suitable for cloth-covered forms? How about for silicone ones -- mine are losinng their stickiness.

As you can see, I hope to switch to light forms, but want them to stick to my chest. If that wont work, I'll look for other solutions. Do you have suggestions?

    I, too, have had both side mastectomies.  However, mine were three months apart.  I have not seen adhesives for light weight prosthetics.  I have had very good luck with the light weight prosthetics in the pocket mastectomy bras.  Have you tried the sew in pockets to fit the bra of your choice?

    Have you heard of this organization?  Volunteers across the world, I believe, knit or crochet prostheses for mastectomy patients!  I just made my first one and I am going to give it to my mom but have not gotten it to her yet.  They are to be very comfortable, light weight and cooler because they are made with cotton yarn.  My understanding is that women are able to put them into their regular bras.  I suggest going to knittedknockers.org and taking a look.  You can request a pair and they are for no charge!  These volunteers meet at locations all over the place so there may be a local organization that you could also contact.  I hope this helps!  Good Luck and stay healthy!
