Lung nodules found on CT scan

Before I had my left radical nephrectomy last August 18, I had CT Angiogram of my abdomen and chest. I had stage 3 cancer which involved the renal vein. The lung findings were a 20mm groundglass nodule in my left lower lobe and a 9mm in my left lung. I had a follow up CT a week ago and the results were unchanged. My medical oncologist suggested I see a pulmonologist and since the nodules are still there I need them biopsied.

Yesterday, I had my bronchoscopy with biopsy and I won't know the results till Monday. I'm praying that whatever the results are,God will give me strength.

    Waiting

Is the hardest on a person. Sending you best wishes on report. You WILL have the strength to deal with whatever may come.  We quickly learn how strong we are when put in a situation we have little to no control over. Wishing you a relaxing and peaceful weekend, do things you enjoy to help keep mind focused and keep us updated.

    Diane

Gosh, I know you must feel

Gosh, I know you must feel anxious, if not scared. Then to make you wait...geesh. I always get my radiology reports, usually within a day or two. But that's me.

Know that there are several here with lung involvement. From what I know its very treatable IF they are mets.

We'll be here for you all the way, please know that ok?

Sending you CALM and HOPE to hold in your heart!~

    Hugs, Jan

    The path report was

The path report was inconclusive. I could have a follow up CT in 3 to 6 months and/or a referral to a pulmonary surgeon for an opinion.

    Hopeful news

Dear Magayon-If you go to the Smart Patients group online, you will see that many people who did end up with pulmonary mets are fine. There are numerous ways to eliminate them IF they even occur.
One very important thing I cant recommend more highly is to consult with a Kidney Cancer Specialist immediately if you havent seen one yet. A "general" oncologist usually sees only a handful of kidney cancer patients while kidney cancer specialists see only RCC patients. If you need a referral to a good RCC specialist, dont hesitate to ask on the Smart Patients Board for recommendations. I guarantee you someone will help you. That board has been a lifesaver for me.

I am not in any way negating the great help this Cancer Survivors Board has been. I just think the more knowledge the better when it comes to a very rare type of cancer. Hope this helps.
