My foot has swelled up!!!

Now what? Tomorrow is infusion day but my foot swelled up due to a gout!! Never had a gout in my entire life!! Went to see my family doctor today due to severe pain of my foot! He asked me if I happened to twist it accidentally. No, I said. I told him about the neulasta shot. He said neulasta had a bad side effect on me. He advice me to but Black Cherry extract and take 3 capsules a day. The pain rate? It's 10....oh geez!!! It is so painful!!!

    So sad to hear that...

    I wouldn't want to experience that but just hang in there! It will be gone eventually (hopefully).

    I couldn't even walk. It hurts every step I make!! I am hoping my onc will cancel the infusion tomorrow

    Allopurinol for gout

    My husband has had terrible gout for years and his doctor put him on this and he has almost been gout free for 7 years.  He used to get it so bad he couldn't walk.  He also has Indomethacin for terrible flare ups which can get rid of the pain in maybe a day.  Please check into it.  It seems the doctors won't tell you about it but both medicines are a life safer.  Hope you feel better soon.  Oh and about the cherry juice - my husband did that too.  Ask your doctor if he's ever had gout.  He wouldn't be taking Cherry juice he'd be getting those two medicines that I'd recommend.  My husband did the cherry juice for a year - don't count on it.  The medicine works much better.

    What kind of meds?

    What meds did your husband take when his gout flared up, Kim? I will have my infusion today, I will ask my Inc about the meds. Thanks.
