Skin itchiness about 8 weeks after treatment
There's always something new to manage after my husband's treatment! That's ok, we will tackle it, one thing at a time! He is about 8 weeks out of radiation/chemo treatments and the skin on his neck is very red and very itchy. And it has now kind of spreading to his upper chest. We go to the radiologist tomorrow for a "check-in" but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has had this and have you found anything...cream....oral meds... to help with this discomfort. We have been using: aloe, Benadyl spray, Gold Bond- anti-itch...
Thanks!

Mine was straight radiation
Mine was straight radiation burn. My son was my rock, every night, he cleaned, creamed and dressed my neck. It looks wonderful now. Itchy skin elsewhere is a by product of chemo I was told... I used Eucerin for that

Essential oils
I'm using 1-2 drops of lavender essential oil with a 1/2 tsp. fractionated coconut oil as the base. After a shower, before and after treatment. I have no skin issues on day 7 of 10 treatments.
Using aloe vera gel to moisten dry throat.
Just not into what is offered OTC or from the doc.
Using ginger or peppermint for heartburn. Very effective! I'm not prone to heartburn, so this is a new experience that has once again been managed by essential oils.
