Especially for those recently dx, I was so happy to hear that others were doing well over time. I never thought I would get here but almost 11 years ago I was dx stage 4 with liver and lung mets. I was praying that I could see my sons 8th grade graduation in two years.... then I got there... then praying for my daughters and son's next graduation.... and so on... Yesterday, i saw him get his computer science degree from the University of California Irvine. Either the key is luck, care, diet, prayer, positive vibes or they stay in school.... (Maybe I will continue to pay for graduate school).

All my best to all and thank you to those who have helped me.

    Congratulations!

    Happy for you.

It's amazing to be in this situation (I am 12 years out from initial Stage 4 diagnosis).  I didn't expect to see grandchildren or to see my kids' careers develop.  And yet I have seen both - 2 beautiful granddaughters - a daughter with a nurse mgr career - and a son who is a lead tech engineer for a AV company.

It's hard to understand "why us".  As far as I can tell, there is no explanation for our results.  But, hopefully, we can let others know that it can work out.

And, this forum helped hugely in moving forward and coping with this.

    Take care,

    Betsy

    Thanks for the posts

Thanks to both of you for your posts. I'm not even 2 years past my stage 4 Dx, so I'm still getting quite a few anxious days mixed in there. What you have is what I'm hopeful to achieve, and it is so helpful to know it is possible.

On a WooHoo note, I just had a clear CT scan on Monday!

    Dare to dream!

You are all amazing and I'm

You are all amazing and I'm so happy for you!! I got home from my CT scan about an hour ago and this is the kind of news I needed to see! I won't get my results until next Thursday because I have to wait to see my onc, they don;t send the reults by mail here. I'm hoping for similar news.

Glad you are still going well Chip

When I was operated on for cancer my 13 year old son visited me in hospital. He asked me if I was going to die. I said no. He is now 33 and lives with his wife and two daughters in the philipines where they built a school and teach the local children. He was a really nice boy and he has turned into a really nice man. His daughters are beautiful. I'm glad I got to see them, Stay well, Ron.
