This is my first post here, and I so hope I am following the rules and doing this correctly.

I had 3 ultrasound guided biopsies last week.  Received the call today that they were benign.  However, the breast center's practice is to compare the ultrasounds with a mammogram after the biopsies are taken to see if they match.  They didn't match.  The mammogram showed a 4th place.  This is after a screening mammo, diagnostic mammo, and a 3D mammo.

Anyway, the radiology Dr said he wanted to get a biopsy on the 4th place.  A lady who has been through many biopsies and breast cancer said "If those are benign, it's more than likely that the last one will be benign too."

Really?!  Has anyone heard this before?  The radiologist who did the screening mammo indicated to me that he felt I had cancer, but since it was caught early, it was curable.  I have no idea on earth why he felt he could say that to me.  It sure did add to the concern.

I am sincerely grateful for the benign reports, and I am afraid I sound like I'm not.  I am just wanting all of this to be over.  I am exhausted and I am not making light of the exhaustion others feel while in cancer treatment.

Besides the 4th biopsy, I also noticed red spots below my right armpit (biopsies are on the left) so they will check those out on Wednesday when I go for the biopsy.

    I can tell you not to worry, but you will. The radiologist assigns a score which indicates a need for a biopsy. Until you have a biopsy they just don't know. Try to arrange the biopsy as soon as you can so you don't worry. Knowledge is power when it comes to dealing with cancer. Good luck!

    When I had my mammo, there were some spots showing up (calcium they said).  Radiologist wasn't concerned but I was since my sister is a survivor of breast cancer.  So I went to see a breast cancer specialist.  She looked at the mammo and wasn't concerned about the spots showing up but was concerned and couldn't understand why the radiologist didn't note a spot that has been on my mammos for a while that had started to grow.  So she then decided to do biopsies on everything that was showing up.  Thankfully they are turned out to be nothing but I am checked yearly by the specialist after my mammo is done.  Can't say to you, don't worry, but just remember it isn't cancer until they say it is.
