Released From Onc Care

Guys,

Happy to say I had my post 5year appointment with my Onc today.  CEA is 0.8 and all scans are clear.  So I went from stage 3b signet cell colon cancer to NED, oficially.

My Onc shook my hand, gave me a big hug and said I am officially "cured", it was weird but I said I am not 100% comfortable with that, but I like NED.  He said ok - then your are NED and I can release you from my care.

I am of course over the moon happy  It was a long 5 years with fear, uncertanty and the cancer roller coaster of emotions.  I tried to count all the sleepless nights one night I had a sleepless night.  I lost count....

He advised me to keep doing what I am doing with my diet (organic/mediterranian) and exercise.  I do good with it but I can do better.

I send good wishes to all.  When I was first Dx'ed and while going through all my surgeries and treatments I was not so sure how I would do, I had some very dark days.  My advise is to keep pushing.  I was told my "signet cell" variation was rare and aggressive - and here I am today.

Love and best wishes to all!

Congratulations!  I wish for you a future life of NED.  I don't think the fear and concern will ever totally leave us but keep doing what you are doing as it is working!

    Congratulations

It is a great milestone to reach. I wish you a cancer free future. Keep up with regular scopes and don't give it the slightest chance to start a new one, Hugs Ron.

I don't know how it can get

I don't know how it can get much better than this kind of result. Congrats on beating the tough odds that come, especially, with signet cell. Very happy for you, and we have one more hopeful tale to tell others who come here for glimmers of hope............................................Dave
