The cancer forum gave me Mark's info so I could write to all of you. First of all I want to thank you all for your kind words. It's so tough to know that he is not here. I appreciate all of your support over the years. As I was reading the post, I cried too as Footstomper was the other person I was trying to get a hold of. He left before Mark. They are probably telling all kinds of teacher's stories etc. To Foxhd, and all of the rest of you...fight until you know you are done. When you know your time is done family members will be sad, but they know it's best for you too. I will get on here once in a while since this feels like another family to me too. If you google Mark Rouska you can see his obit.

Thank you
Patrice, thank you for taking the time to write. I read Mark's obituary and it is of no surprise that Mark impacted a lot of lives both online and in person. I consider myself lucky to have "met" him.

Dear Patrice, thank you for
Dear Patrice, thank you for sharing this with us. Our condolences to you. I'm a caregiver, not a patient. My husband had RCC, and I can't even imagine what you went through.

for reaching to us at this moment. It has been very hard and sad to learn and accept the passing of our friends. I was re-reading just now a post where your husband wrote a comment on something I wrote about how our life changes after cancer but at the same time so many things stay the same. I said I figured I would turn into some kind of saint but the reality is I still give hell to my husband because he forgets to brush his hair in the back, so he's almost at the door every day with the pillow still glued (visually) to his head! Mark said that was cool, he thought it was necessary to continue to be as we always were. He liked that you treated him like the guy who would always open the door for you and was protective of you and not the other way around. Cool guy, courageos man.
Mark will be missed. Thank you for sharing with us. My condolences to you and your family.

Hi Patrice,

Sure appreciate that you wrote. You are in my thoughts. I'll be wearing a Hawaiian shirt on the 8th, even though I won't be in Irrigon (but I've been in Irrigon, even lived there for a little bit). Mark let us know that you were a part of the taking care of each other team, which means we got to learn and be encouraged by your example, too.
Take very good care of yourself -- !
Much love, with hugs,
