Neck cancer longterm effects

Options

I had my radiation and chemo done in 2006 but last year 2016 I started having problems swallowing. I have salivia that continus to come out. If i eat i spend the next 20mins coughing up phlegm. I also have a pain that feels like it starts from one ear to the other through the eyes and in my head.

Is there anyone who has experienced this and has found any remedies that have helped relieve this.

    Swallowing Issues

Go see a swallowing specialist/speech pathologist.  They might be able to help with the swallowing.  I'm almost 17 years out and developed about a year ago difficulty swallowing.  I've been given exercises to try and help with the swallowing.  Every case is different but doing a modified barrium swallow and then working with someone who specializes in swallowing might be a good place to start.

    long term effects

I am seven years out and have tons of real wrotten effects but I have never heard of saliva comming out.

Seeing a  swallowing specialist/speech pathologist along with a modified barrium swallow should at least get you started in the right direction. I have had several.

    God luck
