Peg Tube is gone

Options

I've had my tube for 6 months. So, after getting the all clear after my PET scan it was time for it to go. We had a love/hate relationship. Got the tube removed yesterday and it is remarkable how fast the hole begins to heal.Took all of 5 seconds to remove, but Doc was instructing an intern on how to do it. "This time pull really hard" he told her, she did. LOl.

    pop that PEG

    Raddude,

Popped your PEG, how great is that.

I gave mine to a homeless guy outside of the doctor’s office for reuse.

Now, you have 1 less excuse.

    Happy “new”  normal.

    Yayyyy!

Congratulations!  I just had mine put in almost 2 weeks ago and it has been hurting ever since.  It's fine if I don't move, but anytime I use my ab muscles...zing!!

    DrivingDaisy and Raddude...

you should both hoist a virtual toast to one another (a shot of scandishake or Boost). It is a phenomenal milestone. Congrats to you both! Here's to more successes on the way to a new normal.

That is awesome!!! I got mine removed about 5 weeks ago and got my chemo port removed 2 weeks ago.  It feels so good getting all that crap out of my body.  As soon as the wound is healed, here I come swimming pool!!!!

    It feels great!

No one can know but someone who has had to deal with it, what a pain it is.

Congrats! My husband was thrilled to get his PEG taken out. Now he says he has a second belly button since you can see the spot where the PEG once was. :)

    Tubeless

I can only hope for the day I will not need my PEG but for now it is the only thing that comes between me and my wife.

    Enjoy being tubeless

    Last day of rads....

and the departure of the PEG were my two most favorite days of this.  I had to cheat to get the tube removed....they kept telling me I had to gain 5 more pounds even tho I wasn't using the tube.  So I finally wore Danner steel toed work boots in for a weigh in.... :)

    p

PS....they have never let me weigh in with shoes on since that day....3 1/2 years ago....LOL
