Ear pain

My ear started bothering me this week which is my third week. Feels

like a bubble some times while other times it hurts like earache. PA told me to try Sudafed. Anyone else had this problem?  Did it last through to the end? Got worse?

    I too live with ear pain and the only thing I find that helps sometime is using ciprodex. It is Antibiotic ear drops so I don’t use it all the time just when I am having a lot more pain then normal.

    About 6 months after

    About 6 months after radiation ended I had terrible left ear pain, the side my radiation was on. It felt as if someone stabbed  knife in my ear and twisted the blade. One of the few times I took my pain medicine.. My surgeon told me to put a few drops of baby oil in it and although it took a few months the pain finally went away.

    Ear pain has continued. It's probably the one area making me feel sick right now.  Have tried sudafed, co Advil, Allegra, and not much help. Thinking I need to ask to see an ENT but don't know what they could do anyway :-(

    If you are undergoing chemo and you start having any hearing related side effects, call your MO asap. Chemo is known to cause long term hearing issues. The sooner treatment can be adjusted the lesser chance of permanent damage. Good luck, don

    This might be otitis. In some cases post radiation, you might get otitis media with effusion. This (effusion) might get infected, and that’s when it gets very painful. I had that a year ago, resolved with antibiotics. Before treatment the eardrum perforated and the intense pain subsided. However, I have bouts of vertigo from time to time, post otitis. You need to have your MD take a look at your eardrum, to see if it’s affected (inflamed, bulging, etc), and prescribe antibiotics if needed.
