Hi all....I just happened upon this site as I was doing some research regarding my previous cancer.  I was diagnosed and went through treatment in 2009, so this year will be #7 for me!

I continue to have some skin issues from the radiation from time to time, but other than that, I think I can contribute most of my other aches and pains to old age!! lol  (I'm 56)  My husband and I joke about me having chemo brain, but I do believe that my short term memory has suffered since treatment.

All in all though....I am healthy and happy to be alive!

Does anyone else have ongoing skin issues?

Thank you,

Cheryl

Hello and welcome!  Congratulations on being a 7-year survivor--that is awesome!

As for skin issues, I deal with that from time to time myself.  I received treatment in July - September 2008.  If I have bouts of diarrhea or constipation, my skin suffers.  I have found coconut oil to be soothing and it is good for keeping the moisture in the skin.  You might give it a try.

I wish you all the best as you get further and further out from treatment.  Stay well!

Thank you!! I use coconut oil for a lot of other things, so I'll try it.  :)

    Welcome Cheryl

So happy to hear from another long-term survivor!  I never tire of hearing these success stories - they have given my hope when I needed it most.

Skin issues?  Minor bleeding and irritation at times.  I use vitamin E oil, Aquaphor or coconut oil every night.
