new report out on ovarian cancer

Google,  new report out on ovarian cancer.  It's heartening to know that they are acknowledging that the clinical trials are fewer than some other cancers, they recognize that ovarian cancer is a makeup of different types of cancer, and it's "diabolical".  Also lists high grade serous needs to prioritized.  There's hope for us in the future.  Hugs Nancy

    This was on CBS' news last

    This was on CBS' news last night and I thought it was VERY interesting, especially since I look to how they are treating ovarian cancer for my aggressive, UPSC.  The short link below does not do the story justice.  Dr. Levine spoke how ovarian cancer doesn't always start in the ovaries.  It could be the fallopian tubes, UTERUS...if you find the video it was good.

    I wasn't sure if I could post links, but here goes.  This is the actual report, all 378 pages, but in scanning through, it does sound promising that they're looking at new ways to treat this, and of course, some of it will trickle down to us UPSC's.

    I also caught the tailend of the report on CBS last night.  I believe our best bet for controlling or dare I say, "CURING" UPSC is through ovarian cancer research.  There are just so few of us compared to so many of them.  Let's give three cheers for Ovarian Cancer Research!!

    My Doctor at M.D. Anderson has always said UPSC was Missplaced Ovarian, therefore, UPSC is almost aways treated like Ovarian cancer.  They are our best hope for at least understanding of this cancer.  In my humble opinon, the UPSC and Ovarian are almost exactly the same...bot thave a variety of cells, differentals,ect.     In January I served as a patient advocate for the NCI.  I had a chance to meet pharma reps and the leading researchers in this area.  They will be looking at new studies, and we talked about some interesting things, but it is too early for anything yet. 

    It was an honor to represent you ladies and I promise, they remember me.

    Thank you for the representation at the conference!  I am sure they will remember you...person to person contact is so much better than reports, pie charts, ect .  Looking a person in the eyes who has a deadly disease makes a lasting impression on another person.  Thank you again, Debra
