Where we are...

Well, the SBRT did it's thing for the tumor that we have been fighting for almost five years; that's the good news.

The bad news is that there are two new small tumors in the liver and one in his lung. We geared up for chemo, showed up and was denied because of low platelets. Waited to see if they would come up (possible infection/virus causing low count). They didn't so went for IVIG infusion twice, thought we would be good to go for treatment but to our horror, they plunged. We are now waiting for the results of a bone marrow biopsy he had last Friday.

If anyone has any experience with this, I am looking for hope. Please help.

God's blessings

Brenda

Don't know if this is an option, but JBG finally had her spleen removed which solved the platelet problem. I am thinking Craig had this done too.

Hoping things will get better soon.

I have had problems with low

I have had problems with low platelets for over a year. Partially because my spleen is enlarged. The first thing you should do is find out if an enlarged spleen or splenogamaly was mention on his scan report. Either way you find a good interventionAL radiologist. See if he can ablate any or all of the spots. Also if Dennis does have an enlarged spleen see if the IR can or will embolize the spleen to shrink. That is one option I am holding onto if I need it. I would try embolizing the spleen first and if that doesn't help then remove it.
