Dad has Stage Four Primary Liver Cancer for 4 years now...

Hello All,

 

I am hoping for some guidance as to what my family and I can expect at this point with my Dad's cancer.

He is a real trooper, was given 3 months survival when it was found and its been 4 years, so we feel

very blessed.  Things have have gone down hill lately..he had his first liver tap last Friday and it seems

its filling up again already.  His color is off, has lost alot of weight, says he feels week and tired.

We can tell he is suffering but he is a strong man.  Can anyone tell me what we can expect

from here on out?  I know that no two forms of cancer are the same, but guess I am just looking for

someone to talk to about this...my family is going through alot and although I look strong to those

around me, I am a mess inside.

    I'm sorry for what you're going through its one of the hardest things in life to go through that and it requires the whole family to stick together and be strong  for each other, I share the same feelings with you but in our case my mom's tumor developed from Stage 1 to 4 in a matter of 6 months currently suffering from alot, I wish i can help somehow but god bless you and your family and hope everything goes well

    Hi Ali,

    I am really sorry to hear about your dad and can understand you pain. My uncle who is just 42 years, is diagonised with Stage iv liver cancer. He is in India and doctors have told nothing can be done at this stage. He has 3 tumors in his liver. 

    Can you please help me to understand what treatment you are taking for your father, it would be great help for me to understand what we can do to support my uncle. He has small children and it has been a real trauma for everyone from the time we got to know about this. 

    Please help with the information.

    my dad has recently been given 3 months to live. He is currently on Nexevar. 4 years is amaziNg and I wish him more to come! i do have questions though. Like what was his diet & excerice? Did you take any kind of medicine. Anything is helpful thank you.

    My Mom has liver cancer too.

    My Mom has liver cancer too. She is on Nexavar.. the tumours have not shrunk yet..they are still growing. She has been only 2-3 months on Nexavar and started full dose only a month ago.
