Anxiety about CT/PT Scan FDG Uptake and Groundglass Nodule

I had a PT/CT scan a couple weeks ago. It says: "FDG uptake in the chest is noteable for hypermetabolism in a groundglass nodule of the right upper lobe, just above the minor fissure.  Peak standard uptake value is 3.97.  On delayed acquisition, it is 4.4.  Groundglass opacity measures greater than 1cm in dimension...in addition, hypermetabolism within the left scapula where possible osteolysis is present. MRI is recommended."

I understand that a hypermetabolic groundglass nodule is not good. I also understand that osteolysis may also be caused by a bone tumor.

So, I am posting here to see if, on the odd chance, anyone has had prior experience with either one of these abnormalities, or preferably both at the same time. I am also curious about what the FDG uptake means. I had an MRI yesterday, but reports and a visit to a Pulmonary specialist are weeks away. My family doctor cannot or will not provide any input. This is either because he doesn't know the answers and would defer to experts or he is angry with me for demanding a PT/CT scan when he had said it was a waste of time and money. When we got the results, I think he was offended to see he was wrong.

In a nutshell, "hypermetabolism" in two places is freaking me out, and I am slowly becoming a nervous wreck waiting for tests and results. I am a 55 year old male with 3 children under 9 years old. Non-smoker, social drinker (quit 8 years ago) but exposed to second hand smoke every night in bars for 20 years. (I had a very active social life) Any input would be greatly appreciated.
