I've only seen one post here on the Everest Trial.  My husband found out that because of the size of his tumor he is able to take this.  Does anyone have any information about it and do they think the benefits are worth it.  Know it's a crap shoot because you are either taking it or a placebo but just looking for some information on how you felt or if it's worth it - and what exactly is it for?  Thank you for your information and help.  May God Bless and have a Happy Easter.

    I had surgery (remove kidney,

    I had surgery (remove kidney, adrenal gland, several lymph nodes) on Feb 1, 2013.  Stage 4.  In late April 2013, I got on the Everest trial.  The trial goes 13 months.  For me, anyhow.  I am confident that I received the Everolimus rather than the placebo ... I had enough side effects to tell me that.  Overall, I tolerated the drug well.

    Throughout the trial, I showed no signs of recurrence.  Nothing was picked up on any scans.

    Since going off of the trial in April 2014, my October 2014 scan did show recurrence in a couple of lymph nodes in my upper chest area.

    People have different ideas about test trials.  For me, I am glad that I got into the Everest trial and I am happier yet that I received the Everolimus.  I believe that it helped me.  Of course, that can't be determined for certain.
