Today officially marks 9 years since I was diagnosed stage IV. I am going to buy a big steak for us to cook on the grill to celebrate making it 9 years but first a long mountain bike ride followed by a long motorcycle ride.
Amazing! Let's hope this becomes the new normal for everyone with stage 1V. Jeff, you are such an inspiration and support on this board....thank you. Enjoy!!!
I'll be at 6 years next month. If I could have anything to eat, it would be my Mom's crispy homemade tamales with fresh salsa on top And a cup of coffee. Yum!
nine years - fantastic. And, what's good about your situation is that you seem to have excellent quality of life. clearly if you are mountain biking, etc.,the beast has not defeated you, your immune system, or your spirit.
I think you have an indominatable spirit as well. You are always right on top of things asking questions and researching when you have a recurrence. Keep fighting brother.
Sweet ride. I am fortunate enough in Virginia that I can ride through most of the winter. In fact treatment holds me back from riding more than the weather does. I am on my off week from treatment now. I woke up this morning and was feeling pretty good and decided to ride to work. Then I got out of bed and started moving around which made me feel weak and dizzy. So no riding today. Hopefully tomorrow.
When my first husband passed away, he left a basket 64 pan head. It took my children and I 7 years to find all the original parts at the swap meets. I found a mechanic who would come to my house and teach us how to fix it. We were dirty, greasy and happy. We finally finished the project but found it was too big for us to handle. We ended up selling it but the project certainly kep us close to him in spirit.
I wish I could say I was NED but happy to be alive and stable. We don't get nearly enough good news on here. It is heartbreaking all of the great people that we lost.
Thank you so much for your positive post!!! I love hearing about how people are living and thriving. Just a few months ago I felt like I'd never be normal again but I'm riding my horse again and life is pretty good. I'm even going to work a couple of days next week where I used to work while an employee goes on a holiday. I'm on my third treatement and it's not bad this time, better than number two. They always talk about how the side effects are cumulative so I was scared.
Give Angel a hug for me,please!! I love that cute little face!
Cumilitive in some respects. I don't think so as far as nausea and dirarrhea. It seems like every time I have terrible side effects the next couple of rounds wouldm't be as bad.
Angel is doing great. they took the stitches out from the surgery and remobed the splint. She still has her whole lef wrapped up and is supposed to be confined to prevent running and jumping for another 6 weeks. It is so tough since she was always allowed to move freely and she is only 6 months old so lots of energy and she doesn't understand.
Thanks Craig. You still have me beat though. You are the real inspiration around here. I am just filling in until they can get your pain under control.
