Wierd Smell & Short Term Memory Loss esthesioneuroblastoma
My husband is 76 years old and was operated on February, 2014, for an esthesioneuroblastoma. He had both the cranial and nasal approach. Margins were all clear, thankfully. Doctors recommended no chemo or radiation, but follow-up scans every 6 months for 2 years. He irrigates twice a day. While it is a minor problem in view of all that can happen he constantly complains of a wierd smell, which can't really be a "smell" because his olfactory nerve was totally removed. He also complains of stuffiness in his sinus area that causes inability to sleep through the night. I notice that his short term memory is not very good. Has anyone else experienced these problems.

Hi
i had the same surgeryHi
i had the same surgery nearly 2 years ago and had a lot of issues with stuffiness but it has improved over time- still not normal but a lot better.
the 'smell' thing is weird, I occasionally get that too but I also can't taste so thought maybe it was something weird going on there. Although my problems mostly started after I had radiation but he hasn't had that?!
Hope that helps
