Board hopping and have a question ..

I am hopping over from the CRC board .. 

I was wondering if anyone could help with a bit of a concern.  I recently had a mole removed that became itchy and bleeding.  I do not know how long the mole was there.  The dermatologist does not seem overly concerned but sent it off for biopsy anyhow.  

My question is the area is still very itchy all around the site. Is this common?  I am worried a bit because of the bleeding.  I have read these two things are not good.  I also do have a family history of melanoma. 

Has anyone experienced anything like this?  Is this common for a secondary cancer?
