    Treatment update

    Hey Hondo,

Sorry it took so long to respond, but I just saw your post.  I have been on the website quite often when i am having issues but for some reason never saw your post.  I have been doing okay.  The first couple of weeks were't too bad and then got to mid way of week 3 and felt like I got run over.   I am about to start week 5 of my treatment so just 2 1/2/ weeks keft.  My mouth is full of sores and seem to increase in number everyday.  Using the magic mouthwash to deal with the pain.  It has definitely been a struggle to eat, but I've been drinking the ensure and boost shakes to make sure I am getting my calories as well as eating pudding and potato soup.    I started off with Cisplatin for my chemo but after the 2nd week of chemo, my ears started ringing and haven't stopped, so they switched me to Erbitux which so far has been fine- just have a little acne/sores.  The ringing in my ears hasn't gotten any worse, I assume it will be with me the rest of my life- part of the new normal.  Everyday is a battle, so thankful I have my wife who has been an incredible support team for me.  I have just been praying daily that the Lord will get me through each day and that the treatment will get rid of any and all cancer.  Are the last 2 1/2 weeks usually the hardest for most folks?

Thanks for asking and hope all is well with you.
