Non small cell lung cancer & rectal cancer

My farther has been diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer his pet scan suggest rectal cancer also is this possible ? I'm so confused   Has anybody else experienced this ?  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

    Sorry for your fathers dx.  I had anal cancer and completd tx on 6-30-09 and upon rescan a lung cancer  nodule was found in my lower right lobe which was removed on 9-23-10.  So far so good on both no more evidence of decease.

    Anal and Rectal, along with correctol cancer may metastize to other organs.  My lung cancer was a new primary not related to the anal cancer.

    Please post in the correctol discussion board there is a lot of information there for rectal and lung cancer from correctol cancer.
