in Head and Neck Cancer #1

what are the symptoms of ORN. I never got my teeth removed before rads, I hear occcasionally of this gum/jaw problem how do you know if you've got it. My teeth look fine at present, I've had three check up and been told my teeth are white and healthy. Is it something that happens often in the future after rads if you don't get your teeth removed before.

    I too still have all my teeth and I do all I can each day to keep the clean and healthy. I had a problem with a wisdom tooth way in the back that I could not get too because of the Jaw problem not opening enough and had to get it pulled. After pulling I had to do 10 HOB dives, other than that it healed and I am back to being me again. Also after I brush my teeth I use Oregano Oil at night to kill off any bacteria from having a dry mouth all night.

    Hey Jackie,

    I too have all of my teeth, and have thankfully had no unusual problems; and I have not had any problems with my gums or jaw.  I did the trays for a couple of years, and then when I for some reason was unable to continue to get the gel for the trays, my dentist said that a once a day floride rinse would be Okey Dokey.  So, hopefully you too will be able to continue having no extra ordinary problems with your teeth, gums, or jaw.  Best wishes for continued teeth, gum, and jaw health.
