Lung Biopsy Negative!

Options

Hi All,

The lung biopsy done Friday at MD Anderson of the 3-4 masses in his lungs came back negative for cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They said it was some inflammatory process of pnemonia that was of no consequence and they will just watch the areas.  (The SUV uptake in those areas was 4.5)  They are going to do one more round of induction chemo and then start radiation and some other chemo in Houston.  BESIDE MYSELF THRILLED his lungs are ok.  Now to find lodging in Houston for him.

Hope everyone is having a good day today.

    I can feel your relief

all the way up here in Montana......WHOO HOO!!!  When I was looking at MDA for treatment, I saw many lodging areas that were either close to the hospital, or had suttle services going day and night.  Didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the cost, but at least they're compatible with people needing treatment.

So happy for both of you!!

    Good to hear.....

That's great news to hear. I have a spot on my left lung for 40 years and I worry a little with every scan. Glad it turned out to be nothing to wory about.

    AWESOME

That is AWESOME NEWS!!  I do hope that the good news keeps on coming.  In regard to housing, have you talked with the doctor's administrative staff in regard to housing during treatment, or with the American Cancer Society?  The American Cancer Society has residences for patients and families in major cities that offer rooms at no cost to the patient while they are receiving treatment.  You can check with the ACS, or ask the doctor's administrative staff if they are aware of it and if they can assist you to find out about the process for reserving a room.  We learned about the ACS residences in NYC from our doctor's administrative staff.

    Patrick,

I will definitely look into that. For radiation treatments, will he be able to drive?  How is he going to feel?  I'm thinking I need to get the on-site lodging place (Rotary House) to cut me a deal so he can just walk to an elevator and ride down to treatment each day. I'm imagining he's going to feel awful. We have 3 kids and nobody to help us, so there will be days he is by himself in Houston. I feel awful about this, but that's how it is...
