Hi,

My name is Cathy on September 12th I had a seizure and from that an MRI showing a 5"x4" tumor on my left frontal of my brain. I had surgery one week later. I had the best surgeon out of Rhode Island Hospital. he said I had the tumor for about 20 years, I'm 50 years old! He removed all but one small portion of the tumor which is now gone through Temodar Chemotherapy.

If this is the path that I'm suppose to take I feel very lucky to be alive. It's very supportive that other people have also been through this. Not that you should have to, we can't control that.

I have found out how good people are to you when you have a crises in your life. I have the best support from my family, I hate putting them through this, especially my son.

The most upsetting part so far was that two appointments ago my Doctor disappeared!!! Very upsetting, I was compfortable with her, I put my life in her hands. Nobody seems to know what happened to her, very strange. The neuro-surgeon is also gone. He was Chief of the department and she was the Director. I'm now troubled on what to do. Do I go somewhere else? Do I stay there? This is the most upsetting part of the whole deal. I had a tumor and I had to deal with that, very strongly, that's what you have to do. The Doctor part is very upsetting.

I'm really not looking for answers from anyone, I know the options that I have, it just felt good to write it. My husband thinks my Doctor will reappear and we'll all live happily ever after  : )

My husband is also fighting this type of tumor. Initial diagnosis was July 2010. He has had surgery, radiation, chemo, more chemo, gamma knife chemo, chemo stopped working and put on different chemo. He is now on his 5th cycle of CCNU and his tumor from the recurrence has almost disappeared! We are so happy right now. God is good. Keep the faith and hang in there. I will pry for you and your family. Pray Pray and a pray some more!

    God Bless!

Thank you for your reply. How

Thank you for your reply. How long after surgery did your husband have recurrence? I have been pretty lucky so far. I have another MRI in a couple of weeks.

I hope you're doing well. I know it's just as hard on our significant others. I thank God I have my husband and such a wonderful and supportive family. I will pray for you and your husband.
