Question regarding two lymph nodes one behind ear and another in the right groin

Hi all,

im not a cancer surviver but I am just wondering about a few things regarding my lymph nodes that are swollen any help would be appreciated. about 3 years ago I went through a cancer scare when I was having drenching night sweats and fatigue constantly sleeping and not feeling great. The doctors did a biopsy on an enlarged lymph node in my neck that came back negative.  Eventually the fatigue went away but the night sweats remained so bad that my girlfriend had to get out of the bed when it happened. Now two years laterI notice a small hard pea  like lump behind my ear which has defo got bigger and in the last month there was a build up of fluid next to it that went away after a few weeks but there is some left. For the last two years maybe I was getting an uncomfortable feeling which I thought was my right testical  and a normal thing but it got very bad in the last two months and happened last week and discovered it was not my testical it was a lump in my groin petruding out.went to the doctor and she gave me antibiotics and said to call back in 5 days. so I took the antibiotics and the swelling went down but there is the same buildup of fluid that was beside the node by my ear on top of the lump which I think is a lymph nod which is still in my groin and swollen. Did anyone on this site have similar symtoms like me? I would really appreciate any opinion people woul have on this matter.

Thanks cathal

    Node...

    Hi Cathal,

I had swollen nodes in my groin, stomach and neck, but they didn't have any fluid that you speak of. Mine were firm, and not painful. Might be a good idea to call your doctor and have him/her take a look again. I have recently relapsed with my cancer, so I'm a big advocate for "calling the doctor"....sooner than later, when lumps appear and don't go away. It's better to get it checked out early and let the doctors do the guessing/solving. Hope you get this resolved soon.Smile Let us know what you find out.

    Best wishes...Sue

    Hi Cathal

Welcome to the group.  I agree with Sue.  I recall talking with a young man many months ago from the UK regarding similar symptoms.  It took awhile for diagnosis but I believe they finally diagnosed it as mononucleosis.  Regardless, get it checked out.  Better sooner than later when the possibility of cancer is involved.  Please keep us updated and I hope you find answers soon.

    Thanks guys for the responses,

Went to the doc and got the fuid drained from my groin. My doc said she thoughit vwas a boil or a hair,  in grown hair but I beg to differ. The only thing that came out was blood no white puss, sorry for being  vulgar!  she didnt even check behind my ear for the other lump, she seems  to think its a boil thats it! I never told her about all the tests I went through a few years back, i was with a differ doc should I tell her?Am I being a bit paranoid? After the antibiotics the lump behind my ear is still there. she wants me back up monday too for a check up.
