Home from Thera Speres
We are home from my husband's Thera Spere Therapy. I had the heck scared out of me when they paged me to the entrance of the intervention radiology and began to explain that there was a complication during the procedure. The doctor told me that within seconds of inserting the speres into the tumor his heart rate went to 180 beats per minute, they gave him medication three times before it returned to normal. They wanted to keep him over night for observation and if things stayed quiet he could go home. Things stayed quiet and he passed all of the cardiologists tests and was able to come home. The strange thing is that he had a similiar episode soon after his liver resection two years ago.
The good news is that if happened after the beads were already placed in the tumor because if it had happened sooner they would have stopped the procedure. They scanned the following morning... the doc said that the placement was perfect and the tumor lit up like a light bulb on the scan. The tumor they treated is the only one that couldn't be cut out during resection (was rfa'd).
I want to be sure to give credit to my LORD for everything working out with this procedure and carrying me through this heart breaking time in our lives. Feb 1st was three years since diagnoses... it's been a rough three years with moments of hopless feelings and moments of tremendous hope. I prefer the ones filled with hope of course.
GOD's blessings to everyone.

Dear Brenda,
As hard and scarry that it was, I'm glad the placement was successful and I hope it will work great. Cancer manipulates your body so many ways. When I was diagnosed I had all kinds of unusual heart irregularities that later disappeared. The mental toll of cancer is very serious.
I wish you guys great success and let us know how it's going.
