12 hours and I'll be under the knife!
Today we had the funeral service for my Grammy, which kept me busy all day until around 7 pm. It was a beautiful service, and I will miss her dearly. Since she lived with us, there are so many things that remind me of her in our home.
Now that things are settling down, I realized that in 12 hours I will be in the OR. I wish I had asked for something to help me sleep tonight. My surgery is an open partial left nephrectomy. I'll post again as soon as I am able...

I just had it four weeks ago
I just had it four weeks ago - it's not as bad as you would think.
Get pillows for under your knees when you sleep. That will help. Also, it was helpful to put the heating pad on A VERY LOW SETTING for the incision. I found it helped with the pain. I stress - the lowest setting .
They used glue to close mine.

A note of good cheertwinthings said:Lifting you in prayer
Mom, so sorry for the loss of your grammy. She was, no doubt, watching over you in surgery and I know you will come thru just fine. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery!
Sorry I missed saying good wishes before you went in. And my condolences on the loss of your grandmother.
By the time you read this, you will be on your way to an uneventful recovery, we hope. Take it slow and easy.
Best Wishes....Donna
