    Big Thank You

Hey! All you lovely people, thanks for the messages. Eims, that certainly scuppered my plan to sneak in through the back door. Lol!

Just a quick update then......I came back from hospital yesterday, the doctors have been trying to clear this infection before my op. We had been playing cat and mouse with the antibiotic treatments, then unfortunately I had a severe allergic reaction and had to be hospitalized. I was as sick as a parrot, but certainly nowhere near as chirpy:) In fact I was in pretty bad shape for a bit.

I go back next week for a colonoscopie to see how much improvement I have made. As you may know France closes down during August, nearly everyone goes away, so my op is scheduled for the end of that month. My surgeon will be back from his cruise by the 25th, but if there are any drastic changes I am going to have him winched off that boat, pronto!

I have my haute cuisine all sorted for after the op, my younger sister is flying over from the UK. I can't risk taking any chances with my digestive system, so mercifully she will be doing the cooking. I definitely got the short straw with my husband when it came to cooking skills. His Mum was a cordon bleu cook, his brothers and sister would make great chefs, my husband just makes a great mess. The worst of it is that he thinks he is a good cook, did I say, he is also delusional!!. I am sure there will be a few battles in the kitchen, but my sister works at Brixton Prison so I know who my money will be on. Lol!

No back door for you. . .

There's no way we would allow your entry from the back door. You're definitely a front door kinda girl!

So glad you're up to posting again. You've been missed. Hope you continue to feel better and the surgery set for end of August comes and goes without any bumps or bruises.

    good luck

Ohhh the fun of trying to clear infection before surgery!  I was in a similar position before my surgery with the sinus infection that wouldn't quit.

Get lots of rest, get cleared up, and then have a kick-butt surgery....good luck!

Praying for things to go your way

I'm sorry you've been having a very trying time lately. No one should be subjected to any cancer, much less complications that keep your treatment in limbo. Keep your chin up and try to relax a bit and get healthy again. You can do it!

    Thanks for the support

Thank you all so much for the supportive comments, I appreciate it. I am preparing myself for the tests on Thursday, I have two bottles of delicious wild berry flavored gunk to drink on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, can't wait! In the meantime I am on an enforced rice and fish diet, can't recommend it enough. Lol! I am so looking forward to Friday, I will have the results by then, and will know the extent of the problem.

I will be having robotic sugery yet again, so there will be another six incision sites. That will give me a total of twenty battle scars. I will look like I have been used as a dart board.

    Try the " banana"

Try the " banana" flavor...it's fairly tasty.  'Shudderrrrr'.  Wild berry, I will have to admit, makes me want to hurl a teeny bit less, though. Tongue Out

Prayers and all kinds of good thoughts going out to you for good results.  If you are really determined to have a dart board, I'll send you one. Wink

    Milk Shake & Quake

I had a vast choice of Chocolate, Strawberry or Wild Berry, yuk!! I don't think Mackey-D's has to worry about any competition from these guys do you?

I am very grateful for your kind words of support:) The offer of a dart board is much appreciated, but I am thinking a punch bad would be of more benefit right now! Lol!

    Bits

Hey Eims, now that is a worrying thought, I think in my case, privilaged may be a little far fetched.lol!

Years ago I read an article about being under anesthetic. It stated that on a subconcious level you are aware of all the conversations going on around you during an op. I lived in Texas at the time, where they tend to play music during the operations anyway. So I spoke to my anesthetist about the article and asked for his input, he thought it was not impossible  I told him that just in case, all negative comments are banned, positive feed back only. He took it literally, my surgeon told me later that the bloke constantly whispered positive comments into my ear, and sang to me. I was under for four hours, now that was some caring doctor.
