Dear Pinks:

Whoopeedoo! 3D mammogram negative, tumor marker normal, blood test, liver function, etc. all normal, except blood sugar is a little high, must stop eating all those cookies, ice cream and breads!  The oncologist was quite pleased with me, it is now 3 years past the last chemo for Stage IIB, Grade 3, HER+ IDC.  Husband got a lecture on PTSD, doctor told me its as real for cancer survivors as it is for soldiers returning from war.  Unfortunately husband only hears what he wants to hear and I am afraid it went in one ear and out the other.  This is why this site has been so important to me, I feel I have not much emotional support in my life, except for you.  I had a lumpectomy and for a long time the breast was swollen and rock hard, almost 3 years later the swelling has finally gone down, the left boob is quite a bit smaller, but what the heck....  The whole breast is also much softer, I have been using Vitamin E Oil on it, started as soon as the radiation burns had subsided.  The oncologist told me about a small study done about 10 years ago, he admitted oncologist don't pay much attention to that study, showing that Vit E helps in making the breast softer, more normal to the touch.  Now if I could just decide what to wear for a big luncheon tomorrow!

    PTSD is very REAL!

PTSD - Post Trauma Stress Disorder

I have dealt with (deal with) PTSD from events in my childhood.  Hubby is retired USN but his PTSD goes back to his childhood also.  Please seek counciling for you and your Hubby with someone who is experoienced with PTSD - not all are.

I think a lot of people,

I think a lot of people, whether thru a tragedy, a war, grieving a death, being diagnosed with cancer have PTSD.  It is very real and if you have it, it would be good to seek some sort of counseling.  There is help.

    Also, enjoy your luncheon!

    Hugs, Lex
