Anxiety about work, daughter 2 1/2 years post cancer

Hi, I haven't visited these boards in a long time. Have had my ups and downs since thyroid cancer and an earlt melanoma in 2010. I have been a stay home Mom since my daughter was born 6 1/2 years ago. I am now about to start a new job after being out of work for 6 years, going through 2 cancers, and loss of loved ones. I think it will be good for me to get out with adults again, but I'm afraid about how I am going to do, not being around enough for my 6 year daughter. The hours they want me to work, though only part time, are not the best for having a young child at home. My hubby has a demanding job and travels alot and my Mom just turned 70 and was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. She says she will help out with my daughter, but I think she is unsure about her abilities now... as I am about my own now. My hubby says, just try it, we will work it out, but I cant stop worrying. I think it will pass once I'm on the job, but right now, I am feeling so anxious.  Anyone else go though this?sg

Change is always hard. I agree with your husband. Try it; you might like it. It won't be easy at first to leave you little girl or to go back to work. You have had a tough couple of years. Hopefully, you won't have to ever deal with cancer again. In any event, it is now time to move forward. Best of luck with the new job. It sounds as if your husband is very supportive and will support you if you decide that it isn't working for you. Take care, Fay
