Anyone on chemo pill Stivarga Regorafenib

Has anyone  started to take Regorafenib?  I will be starting on this next week if my insurance approves it. I read the side effectswhich seem to be similar to other chemos. I pray the side effects arent to severe. If anyone has taken it I'd be interested how it was. Thanks. Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

I am taking that now.  I started in December with 4 pills a day.  After a week and half, on Christmas Eve, I started feeling awful.  Couldn't eat or drink much and I developed a 103.7 temp that night along with a red rash all over.  I stopped taking the chemo until I could talk to my doctor on the 26th.  I went in and he said I was having a reaction to it and he took me off of it for a week until I could build my strength backup.  I also got 2 bags of fluid while I was there.

I started back on it a little over a week ago but only 2 pills a day right now.  As far as side effects, I seem to get a low grade fever every night about 2 hours after taking it.  I get really tired too.  So far, I haven't really had any problems with my hands or feet.  The pharamacy recommends taking it in the morning but I seem to do better taking it right before dinner around 5pm.  I have found that I feel better during the day.  If I take it in the afternoon, I go to bed and don't really have to put up with feeling too badly or fatigued.  I see my doctor today so I am going to make sure this schedule is ok with  him.

I don't know if it is working or not.  It was explained to me that it was not designed to kill the cancer but keep it at bay.

If there are any other questions I can answer for you, please let me know.  I am happy to help in anyway I can.

Good luck and God Bless you.

    Joan
