We are going Kayaking if the weather holds, and taking the Dogs. Else we will Hike in the Mountains. Either way, the trees are turning colors and it is very pretty!
My recovery from my lumpectomy has been full of problems, so my surgeon is going back in tomorrow morning. I'll spend the weekend at home recovering (it is outpatient surgery). We're hoping that a little reworking will alleviate the severe pain I've been suffering for the past week.
My original plans were to curl in a tournament. I had to drop off of my team (fortunately, they were able to find someone else.)
However, in the scheme of things, the surgery is minor. It's a major nuisance, but it's a sort of non-cancer/cancer surgery, as it is related to a diagnostic surgery that found everything benign, but left me with the post-op blues.
I hope I can get back on the ice next week, and I hope everyone else has a great weekend. (Boy, would I love to be out kayaking!)
The first Saturday of November for about the last 15 years or so has been designated sister shopping day! My mom and her six sisters and me (my moms youngest sister is six months younger than me) began this tradition in prepping for our annual Christmas party which averaged up to 80 folks! We would hit the dollar stores and buy two $1 toys for each little one for Santa to give out during our party. We would also do some additional shopping and garage sales along the way and always splurge for a great meal! I had one aunt who was very frugal and she would always "splurge" and order a steak! She passed away three years ago after battling B cell non Hodgkins lymphoma, we always remember her steak meal when we order ours! We had one rule, no kids allowed! It was our day! You had to be 18 or graduated from high school! My wonderful aunts are now entering their mid and late sixties with my mom the oldest at 72. I have so many wonderful memories of these years! We laugh till we pee our pants almost and bring tears to our eyes! Last year I was still taking chemo, I tagged along but it was rough, I plan on making up for that come Saturday! Bring on the depends and let the laughter flow!
Spending time in the hospital and maybe at home if I get released. Family will be coming around which is so soothing. I pray each and everyone has a peacefully weekend. Jeff
Hey Pepe, Rick is looking forward to having his kids come up for a visit. I'm hoping that his sister and nephew will come too. Rick likes having visitors, I just wish more of his old friends would stop by since it always perks him up.
This morning I woke up to freezing rain which went very fast into snow coming down for the rest of the day.
I am dating again and have a dinner date planned for saturday evening. Plus we will be changing our clocks.
Do wish the weather a little better and warmer.
visiting me etc, 3.5 years later many of them have disappeared! . Just a few very good friend still coming or visiting us!.
Hope you enjoy the visit!.
Hugs Cyn!
My daughter took my electric razor to my hair today and shaved it all off in my hospital room. This new treatment with Zaltrap made my hair fall out. It does do something to make me feel better. Have fun looking for your new wig. Jeff
High School football game tonight, they are 8-0 so far and last year went to state championship and won in Atlanta. So that means 2 more regular season games and maybe 5 playoff games. The rest of the weekend rest for chemo #9 Monday morning. It seems it will never end!
Sandy :)
Just got a call from my doc about the CT Scan I had today. It seems the pain in my side is the appendix and he wants me to go into the hospital to get it removed. I'll be taking my laptop so I can keep all y'all informed.
Darn those sharp things that we keep getting stuck with. Slicing and dicing is not my favorite way to spend time. I hope that your appendectomy and recovery are simple and straightforward, no excitement (tho maybe you'll get to enjoy some eye candy as well!)
Take care of yourself,
Alice
PS - it's a damned shame that some meds cause amnesia. I know that I "missed" at least one night of fun with my husband due to Ambien. I wonder what I missed due to Versed while sleeping with my cute anesthesiologist today!
This weekend! It would be a major problem, but ate all what an appendix operation for us? LOL..
Well now seriously wish you and praying for the best!
Hugs!
It is lovely here. I am outside alot now since I was inside for months on the chemo. Each day I feel a little better. I am making myself as strong as possible on the inside and out. And I will enjoy the extra hour of sleep with pulling back the clocks!
have hope dear friends, this weekend beyond all others, when i find the secret of my survival i will share it here.
the solution already exists, we just don't know it, i just hope the lecture above is in english. i will go regardless, i have to meet the doctor presenting the colorectal metastatic case study. if i was not in germany i could not look these world class innovative doctors in the eye!
so i fly around the world for treatment and at the same time this conference is on !
its meant to be!
hugs,
pete
ps smile friends the solutions to the mcrc problem exists, we just have to implement it! when i know, well so will you. another clear pet is only a matter of time i pray!
just relaxing & not doing much. finishing up a bathroom that we took down the wall paper ( what a mess & hard to remove sizing under the paper) we had to sand & patch walls. it is all painted. hung new shower curtain, rod, & curtain rings. have new towels, throw rug & wastebasket. just have to figure what to put on the walls. will watch alot of football. i hope you have a great weekend. how is your weather?

Next time you need/want to remove wall paper try spraying it with deluted liquid fabric softner. I hear it does a really good job of loosening it and best of all it is non-toxic.

Love it!
Plan to hang low, chill with the fam and take in a movie.

Sorry to hear that you need to head for hospital again but hopeful that this surgery will get you back on the road to recovery.
Alice shared her "sleeping with her eye candy Anesthesiologist again", so you have got to come back with some good stories of your own.
