Hallucinations

Well they had me on lexapro in the hospital for over a week before I realized it so when I got out it didn't occur to me to take it(anti-depressants scare me). Well immediately the morning after I got out I started having hallucinations. Not just visual but sounds and smells/taste. Also severe depression, insomnia, fatigue, morbid dreams...I can only sleep for about 2 hours at a time if Im lucky and it takes me about 2 hours to fall back asleep. Everytime I wake up I have the visual hallucinations for about 5-10 minutes and the smells and sound off and on all day. My doctor said it should stop in about a week, but I don't know if I will be sane if it continues that much longer. Its gotten to the point where I am scared to sleep or even enter my bedroom. Has this ever happened to anybody else? and if so how long did it take until you went back to normal?

On the bright side I got my tri-fusion catheter out today since my treatment has been post-poned 6 months due to the damage to my bone marrow. Man did that hurt though all they gave me was liticain and not enough. I am just glad to have it out though. Looks like I will be able to celebrate halloween after all. :)

    Dear Felicia
I'm so sorry you've had to deal with the afteraffects of lexapro. I can't imagine what it must be like for you to deal with all of the hallucinations and sleep deprivation on top of it but I hope they end soon - please hang in there! I'm so glad that you'll be able to celebrate Halloween after all and I hope you are reunited with your beloved animals!

    Take care,

    Kelly
